All - this is up as an example to a friend of how we did our Disney World countdown last year - she asked so I'm posting it so she can see. If you're not planning a trip just disregard.

Fasion and Fish

This morning we overslept Sunday School so we had a few extra minutes before church, the girls thought they would do a fasion show:

These were the highlights:

Saturday Night Fever!

Cutie

Get angry at the camera!

I'm not sure I like this one...

Boring Pose

So after church we had lunch with the Vaughan's and since Mommy went shopping at Kohl's we wanted to go shopping - First we hit Best Buy to see a TV like the one we are waiting to be delivered. Then off to PetSmart where for only $0.27 two young fish would be begin their frantic race for survival - in Katy and Allison's Temple of Doom....

The white and orange one is Allison's and has several orange spots on her including on big one right on her head. Allison named 'her' Dotty Dot (or Dotty for short). The solid Orange one has a big black spot (bruise) on his forehead and Katy named it Pumpkin Bruiser (Pumpkin for short). The girls didn't like my name suggestions so I have given them each their SUPERHERO names of Doctor Orange Brain for Allison's and Captain Destructo for Katy's.

The fish have survived their first hour, but overall prognosis remains grim. They have unfortunately contracted the universally terminal illness of KatyAndAllisonFishOwnershipitis.

Allison's Pirate Party!

Arr - The whole pirate crew!

Captain Wally gives Allison the Key to the Treasure Chest...

The Captain Wally show

The Cake

It's late - publishing the video took a while no witty commentary tonight

Rock N' Roll Carol

Rock N' Roller Carol fans rejoice, Carol has produced her very first music video - she personally designed the special effects and moves. The audio and video are out of sync as the audio was secretly recorded through a closed door, when carol came on stage in front of the camera and audience she was not as loud with her vocals so I spliced the audio and video tracks together - enjoy!

Preparations for Allison's Pirate Party

We've been hard at work preparing for Allison's surprise Pirate 5th Birthday Party - here are some pictures of our progress:

This will be the ships mast. We have a sail and pirate flag that will hang from this. It is still sitting in the living room. We've told Allison it is an Easter Cross decoration - she totally believes me. Also note one of our "tomato planter" palm trees:

The ship under construction. These pieces will be moved into the house on Saturday to go around the mast. The cannons have been finished up since this picture.

Here is a shot from the bow.

It should be a lot of fun, I'll post pictures this weekend.

Look out Branson Town!

Imagine this as sung by Johnny Cash and June Carter (or Jauquen -sp?? Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon) (Of course to the tune of 'Jackson')

"We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout, we've been talkin bout BRANSON
Ever since the fire went out... I'm goin' to BRANSON Gonna mess around. I'm goin' to BRANSON, look out BRANSON town!"

Off to Branson USA we go...

Look Out Branson Town - Katy and Allison are on their way.

At the Missouri Welcome Center they have an awesome playground for kids - here Al is enjoying a break from the drive. Interestingly by crossing the state line the roads got smoother and better maintained but also became free - so much for quality Oklahoma Toll Roads.

First Stop - The Table Rock Lake Fish Hatchery - where we watched an educational video about the farm raising trout. Much to Susan's delight the video included footage of the various methods of manually expelling trout eggs from the females and "manually fertilizing" those eggs with a male trout and your bare hand! - Luckily the girls didn't ask any questions.

Here are the kids in front of a trout bin,

And here are a bunch of trout - I know - this is exciting.

After our fill of trout fertilization it was off to the lake for a nature hike. The kids took a moment to wade for a minute - but the water was very cold. Katy found an actual Indian Arrowhead! - or Something that looked like an arrowhead - or a flat rock with a really sharp pointy end - but you could use it as an arrowhead... ...at least you could If it were shaped a little more like an arrowhead.

More arrowhead hunting by the lake.

Family nature hike - the girls with their walking sticks.

The next morning at Silver Dollar City - it was very cold!

Allison and Susan conquered the swinging pirate ship! A first for both of them. Allison really liked it and rode three times, laughing the whole way. Susan covered her mouth as if she were going to hurl. Suddenly the ride operator announces he is stopping the ride - the ship slowly stops swinging - we figure some 'teen punk' is getting in trouble for standing up or breaking some other rule. The operator comes around his podium and heads straight for my wife - "Mam - are you OK?" I've never seen a ride stopped because they thought someone might get sick - until I rode the pirate ship with my wife. Susan assured him she would be OK and they restarted the ride. Susan got dirty looks from me and everyone else on the ride. But she did get back on - twice - so we're proud of her!

Katy in front of the electro-spin another ride she was just now able to ride now that she is > 48 inches!

Allison returning to the station on ThuNderaTion! Her first legitimate Roller Coaster! She rode it 3 times and though nervous said she really liked it.

I told her to get the small bag but she had to get the Super-Jumbo Kettle Corn. I would have never suggested we get the big bag.

Katy and Allison in the old time schoolhouse - while there they, Susan, and the period dressed schoolteacher swapped stories of their favorite episodes of 'Little House on the Prarie' . Really I can't make this stuff up, they actually watch that show together.

Allison, after the long day, with a well deserved nap.

Happy Birthday Susan!!

And Now Your Oklahoma City Thunder Girls!!

Katy wasn't sure she wanted it on her cheek.

But Allison had it on hers for a whole week! Notice the Daisy Duck Waffle from our Mickey Mouse and friends waffle maker! - Thanks Uncle Scott

The girls and I made Susan a Birthday Cake - "Mom's out of this world..." was Katy's theme - she picked the cake design. Thanks to my resident friends for stealing the M&M's

Susan Blowing out her candles before her cake blasts off.

The girls

Though it is up a little early, we are working on a new Easter Tree this year. We took a trek to a nearby creek to chop down the tree. Then we spray painted it white. The ornaments are a work in progress. Hopefully they make some good crafts at Sunday School.

Ice Storm 2009 - Day #2

Well overnight the layer of ice became a layer of icy-snow which made for a prettier day of sledding and a great sledding hill in our neighborhood park:

Our little angels...

Hopefully some videos:

Katy's "Lightning Coaster"

Katy and I have been hard at work making cool new marble coasters, this one Katy named "Lightning Coaster" because "Lightning is Cool" as she says. As you can see we highlight the flaming leap of death! You cannot imagine how difficult it is to get that darn marble to land on the track and stay on it!

Ice Storm - 2009

So yet another ice storm in Oklahoma, no it's not as bad as the weathermen (and Tulsans) would make it sound and no Oklahomans still can't drive in bad weather but it does make for a great chance for fun. I've had these snow saucers for 2 years (Thanks Santa!) but hadn't had a chance to use them yet, so with Carol's driveway iced over, the girls and I hit the slopes

The girls were required to sit on the "bench" when it wasn't their turn. It is amazingly difficult to put on bike helmets over ponytails and winter hats. - Al waiting for her turn.

The girls on hold for a car - GAAAAME OOOONN!!

Allison was upset when she got spun around backwards her first time, but she got back in the game after watching sister go a time or two. Katy is either warming her cheeks or terrified for her sister.

Katy enjoying a slide down the hill - Don't worry Grandma's I always caught them before they went into the street.

Al summed it up well before her last ride - "Daddy this is the coldest day ever, but it's also the funnest cuz I got to go sledding!"

Hoping to get back out on the hills again before it all melts!

Katy's "Space Coaster"

Katy designed her first marble roller coaster (this was a present she got for Christmas) which she named "Space Coaster" - here is a video we shot of it:

The week before Christmas and Christmas Eve

These are some random pictures from the week before Christmas - We had a candy making day that week where I made some custom OU candies for Grandpa Teel

Allison wanted to try the treadmill one morning and she really who needs a reason to post a picture of my cute baby girl...

On Christmas Eve we went up to the hospital for a couple of hours to give my coworker on call a short break so he could go home and see his family for a bit. The girls came up to the hospital with me and hung out. Katy and Allison walk around like they own the place- here is Katy in the massaging chair

Susan making her "your taking a picture of me eating face" - interestingly Katy seems to be making a similar face - I don't know if she was mimicking her mother or if it is just a genetic thing.

The girls camped out on the floor of the call room.
